Coffee TALK Premium @ D'Piazza Mall, Bayan Baru, Penang

D'Piazza mall appeared to be less lively compared to its golden days. Many shops and eateries were shut down, and our sole memory over there is still the standing strong Black Ball restaurant. However, we are surprised to find this Coffee TALK Premium cafe, serving interesting western dishes and coffee.

Apparently, the cafe serves their Signature Coffee (RM 9.90) in a nicely bitten apple shape bottle with name labeling. We were so tempted to commit crime by taking this bottle back home because it was real elegant! Back to the coffee, the coffee taste was strong and robust, giving a solid kick for the afternoon.

We were directly tempted by the dish's name Cheesy Baked Chicken Parmigiana (RM 21.90). It had a fried chicken breast meat topped with baked cheese, and a handful of fries and salad as sides. The combination between the cheese and the tender meat was good, with presence of cheese clearly enhanced the originally dull chicken breast meat.

Another dish that sparked our curiosity was Coffee Talk Chicken Waffle (RM 21.90). We were thinking how these 2 ingredients complement match with each other?

The waffle actually came with a fried chicken cutlet topping it, then another poached egg topping the chicken cutlet and sprinkled with chili powder. The dish did not really meet our expectations as the combination did not go well. Fried chicken cutlet was blunt in taste and dry, while the chili powder did not really introduce any significant taste into the entire dish. Half way eating into it and we felt overwhelmed by the dryness of the chicken cutlet.

Dessert lovers should not give a miss to their Matcha Lava Cake (RM 15.90). It takes some time for them to prepare it, so tell them 20 minutes in advance before you want to enjoy the dish.

On top of the Matcha lava cake, another scoop of Matcha ice cream is served on the side to satiate the crave of Matcha's geeks. Upon slicing the cake, Matcha will be oozing from within.
