Furanco Patisserie Modern French Desserts at Jalan Burma Penang

Furanco Patisserie, one of the rising names in Penang's modern dessert scene, that started from online that evolved into having physical shop.

Established in year 2020, Furance first built its reputation through online orders, quickly gained their loyal regular following during the covid timing where movement controls pushing our habits to online ordering. They then transition into physical shop, a beginning with striking blue storefront along Jalan Phuah Hin Leong, which later relocated in 2023 to the bustling Jalan Burma, just before the CRC tennis courts.

Unlike typical cafés, Furanco positions themselves more like a boutique patisserie, focusing on takeaway rather than dine-in experience. Their premium packaging too make it perfect for the gifting culture.

Furanco blends the classic French pastry techniques with Asian-inspired flavours, offering a unique twist that resonates with local taste preferences. You will find flavour profiles such as taro chiffon, matcha, yuzu and oolong-infused among their creation. The East meets West approach is part of what makes Furanco one of the more distinctive French-style bakeries in Penang, and fit Malaysian flavours profile too.

Stepping into their clean, elegant presentation, we immediately drawn to their signature tarts. Pricing is slightly on the premium side which align with the premium quality they used that ones would agree after tasting it.

The Dark Chocolate Tart has the nice crunch, buttery shell with rich chocolate filling, the sweetness is balanced, making it satisfying without being overwelming.

Not to miss their Éclair, we opted for the Oolong Peach, the exterior is crisp and airy that perfected with smooth creamy filling and creamy topping, complemented by the subtle floral notes of oolong and the sweetness of peach. A refreshing twist on a French classic.

Another dessert we bought was the Chocolate Opera cake, a classic French dessert. This multi-layered cake was creamy, with the nuttiness of almond, soft, moist and velvety texture, rich and aromatically irresistible. This is such a perfect choice for those of you prefer less sweet kind of cakes just like us. We also had the Monster Muffin which offering a buttery richness with chocolatey notes, baked to a moist and fluffy finish.

They operates on a limited daily production model, prioritising freshness and quality. If you wish to grab your favourite desserts here, make sure you stop by early as it tend to sold out most of it by afternoon as they stress on quality of quantity.
