Located at one of Penang's iconic streets, Lebuh Campbell, a new eatery Qi Xi has made its debut, serving comforting meals at wallet-friendly prices. The dining setting is simple and welcoming, evoking the cozy vibes of a Taiwanese eatery (台湾小店). Whether you are locals running errands nearby or exploring the heritage of Georgetown as tourists, Qi Xi makes a lovely spot to relax, enjoy a light meal, and sip on a refreshing cup of milk tea.
Their two-page menu keep things straightforward, featuing mainly rice dishes complemented by sides of vegetables, deep fried items and soups. We like the flexibility here where one can easily opt for a quick bite or a complete meal, making it suitable for any time of the day.

We just have to try their signature
Bronze Braised Pork Rice and the
Braised Pork Noodles. Their braised pork, made primarily with lean meat instead of the usual fatty mix. It was tender, flavourful and satisfying. The noodle version used flat noodles that absorb the rich braised sauce beautifully, giving every bite a nice texture and aroma. We also added a
dark sauce boiled egg, which paired nicely with the rice and tied the whole meal together.
