Michi Michi Japanese Semi Buffet @ Arena Curve, Penang

Michi Michi, a Japanese restaurant in Arena Curve has underwent a major transformation. The kitchen was taken over by a new chef who has years of experiences working in Kampachi, a premium restaurant operating in Equatorial Hotel previously.

Recently, the Japanese restaurant has launched an intresting promotion, offering Japanese style buffet lunch on every Friday and Saturday only for RM 39.90 and RM 49.90 respectively. You will have access to unlimited salad bars, appetizers, hot dsides, sushi, dessert and ice cream, on top of selecting a main course out of the 6 selections. Saturday semi buffet will have additional dishes like assorted tempura, garlic fried rice, fried noodles and Japanese Gyoza.

We went on a Saturday afternoon and the buffet counter display a splendid choice of goodies to choose from. There will be 3 types of sushi on rotation from the choice of California Maki, Tuna Age Sushi, Horso Maki, Inari Sushi, Ebi Tempura Maki, Futo Maki or Seasonal Ura Maki.

It was pretty enjoyable to have unlimited servings of sushi and we can choose to enjoy as much as we could.

The appetizers we had that day was Edamame, but Cold Tofu or Cold Noodles also will take turn to make it to the buffet counter on different day. On top of that, there will be salad bars, and that day also feature an unique dish, where ramen noodles are wrapped in buns.

Two types of desserts will be served, with a choice of cold and another hot dessert. On top of that, there are variety of fruits, and you will get free flow of hot or cold green tea.

Michi Michi is proud of their Chorshin Ramen, as the broth is brewed for 12 hours. Personally, we felt the broth is more on the milder side, perhaps catering for those who prefers a less bold Ramen flavour.

Overall, the Semi Buffet is quite a good deal considering you can have access to such a great variety of food for lunch.
