Wizards by Tribeca @ Jalan Imbi, Kuala Lumpur

When I Googled for nice restaurants in Bukit Bintang area, the name Wizards by Tribeca came out topping the list. The name wizard suggests something magical, fantasy or supernatural to us and therefore the food there could be very innovative in taste. 

Wizards by Tribeca is located at the ground floor of Tribeca Serviced Suites in Jalan Imbi. Apparently, the team behind Wizards are from the award winning Yellow Brick Road Cafe at Damansara Heights. The restaurant has French windows to allow maximum sunlight to infuse to the interior, and along with leafy green decorations, making the entire restaurant Instagrammable and comfortable for a dining time. 

There is a thing perplexed us about Wizards as many news portal reported they were ceasing operation on 31st July 2021 but the somehow the restaurant is still operational after 1 year later at the same spot. 

The menu in Wizzards is pretty interesting with some uncommon options such as foie gras, pappardella, ravioli, baos, single origin chocolate and coffee. 

We had a Wizards Beef Burger (RM 36) and Chicken Katsu Rice Bowl (RM 30) and both were great choice. You can have either Black Angus Beef or Sanchoku Beef (top up another RM 6). The burger has a perfectly done sunny side up with runny yolk, along with grilled Swiss Cheese topping the patty. The burger is nice but a tad more greens on the plate definitely would make it better.

The Chicken Katsu Rice Bowl is pretty standard with nicely fried crispy chicken cutlet that served with Japanese rice and onsen egg. I liked the pickled kyuri much and the only shortfall was too few chicken cutlet to enjoy.

Still feeling not full after 2 main course and tempted by the nice taste of other meals we had here, we were enticed to order anotehr main dish - Truffle Shrooms (RM 40). It has creamy gnocchi then topped with wild mushrooms and shaved truffles. We were expecting a gnocchi with larger size but the gnocchi here is smaller, akin like another version of macaroni. Nevertheless, it was nicely executed as we always feared of starcy taste of gnocchi. The cream was just nice and not overwhelming, with a tiny scent of truffles that made the dish very appetizing.
