Popular and Famous Steamboat BBQ - Lila Wadi @ Kuantan Pahang

Lila Wadi appeared to be a popular restaurant for Kuantan folks when the dusk set in. It is hard to miss out Lila Wadi when you pass by Jalan Teluk Sisek as its fluorescent light illuminating the interior of the shop is contrasting the surrounding dim light. 

The restaurant is so popular that it is hard to get a table during peak hours and waiting is expected. We had to wait for 15 minutes for a table even we came at 9pm on a weekday. Many came here for their steambot, but at the same time Lila Wadi also serves a variety of Western food and the popular Mango cheesecakes from Kula Cafe. 

We actually mistaken Lila Wadi as another Western cafe but upon a glance at the steamboat focused menu, we decided not to go against the tide. The minimum order for pan BBQ steamboat is 2 person, and the option to have tomyam soup instead of clear soup will incur another RM 5. 

Several options are offered for the steamboat, including lamb supreme, chicken supreme, beef supremeseafood supreme and mushroom supreme with not much price difference between each of them. The only obvious difference is more selections of proteins in the higher price tags.

We had the Beef Supreme (RM 24.50 x 2) and it came with sliced New Zealand beef, beef streaky, sliced Australian lamb shoulder, prawns, squids, sliced chicken breast, mushroom, green coral, cabbage and rice. The lamb and beef had been marianted before serving to us, and it felt kind of pepperish. 

The portion for the steamboat was more than enough for 2 pax. There were load of proteins, and there are one bowl full of garlic rice that is more than enough to satiate any hungy person.

Lila Wadi also serves a variety of Western food and we had a Spaghetti Carbonara Chicken (rM 13.90). The carbonara sauce tasted from the conventional carbonara sauce taken from the can and there is nothing spectacular about it. More like an option for you if you choose not to have the steambot. \\

They have an unique drink - Pandan Cooler (RM 5.50) which is a concoction of lemongrass, pandan and soda topped with basil seeds. Not something I enjoyed due to its frizzy sensation but the flavour is unique in a way.
