Chinese Food in Langkawi - Yong Leong Restaurant @ Kuah, Langkawi

Chinese restaurants are pretty scarce in Pulau Langkawi, especially when you are out from the touristy Pantai Cenang and dinner hours. In our recent trip there, we were trying to locate a place for a Chinese menu dinner around Kuah town and realised the town is pretty quiet at night. Then, we drove in the town randomly and spotted Yong Leong Restaurant with a significant crowd along the main road by chance.

We sat down in the restaurant and a middle age man attended to us with a rather casual and slothful attitude. His attitude was not bothering us but what annoyed is so many items on the menu are "out of stock" and we only get to know it upon ordering. Nevertheless, dinner here is fine and the price is reasonable. Not exactly a place we would go for a gastronomy journey, but rater than a place to pacify the hungry stomach.

Though the restaurant is a seafood restaurant but we did not order any seafood as our little one did not enjoy any type of seafood.

We wanted to order a variant of non-spicy chicken and was told it was not available, therefore we resorted to have Roasted Chicken (RM 15) at the recommendation of the crews. The chicken was alright but there was a lot of bones, and it seemingly to be the leftover portion unsold from the afternoon lunch session.

The other dishes we have included Teppanyaki Tofu (RM 15), Kai Lan (RM 8) and Soup of the Day (RM 8). The tofu are alright, while nothing is spectacular about the vegetables and soup. In fact, the vegetables was prepared in such a sloppy way with big chunks while the soup is tasteless.

We also ordered a plate of stir fried noodles (RM 8) and it was nothing special.

While we supposed the island of Langkawi has abundance of coconuts but when we wanted to order one, we were told coconuts were not available despite it is available in the menu.
