Kyodai Ramen @ Lebuh Kimberley Georgetown Penang

We have been frequenting Japanese restaurants lately due to our daughter's affection toward Ramen noodles. Then on a random day when googling the next Japanese restaurant to bring our daugther, the name Kyodai Ramen poped up. Apparently, it is a relatively new restaurant in Lebuh Kimberly, selling the likes such as Ramen, Donburi and small snacks. Upon walking into the restaurant, you can see dozens of Japanese paper umbrella hovering at the roof and flying flags over the wall, creating an unique dining ambiance.

The restaurant practices a self scanning QR menu, though our telco service coverage was bad in the restaurant and took us some time to load the menu.

We mainly came here for the Ramen to fix our daugther's craving, therefore we had a Tonkotsu Ramen (RM 21.90). Kyodai Ramen practice unlimited refill of the ramen noodles, provided you could finish it.

Our ramen came with 4 pieces of Japanese Chashu, an Onsen egg and a generous quantity of spring onion. The noodles are cooked to al-dente and has close resembles to nice Japanese ramen noodles. The broth itself is decent, though a deeper depth or richer flavour would be greater.

Kyodai Ramen also offer a few selections of donburi and don, so we had a Karaage Tama Don (RM 16.90) and changed the rice to Garlic Fried Rice (top up RM 4.90). It was a decent dish but the garlic fried rice was too moist for our likings.

Gyoza was not available so we had Pumpkin Korokke (RM 12.90) instead.
