In view of this memorable moment and celebration of the month of giving and sharing, The Light Hotel Penang has prepared a variety of exquite culinary delights to let all diners here experience a quintessential Ramadan experience.Â
The team of chef in The Light Hotel led by Chef B Murugan whipped out an array of Malaysian kampung dishes in the Gurindam Lagenda Ramadan Buffet. Despite its extensive dishes, the buffet is priced competitively at RM 118+ (adult), RM 98+ (senior citizen) and RM 80+ (children). A special price of RM 98 nett is applicable for the ramadhan vouchers.Â
There were so much good food in the buffet spread till we fall into a conundrum on what food to choose due to limited capacity of our stomach. Among the awesome delights greeting us at the entrance of the hotel restaurant is a well marinated and succulent Whole Lamb Roast, along with the rich Sup Gearbox, tandoori and others.Â
Then among the other goodies offered included Patin Asam Tempoyak, Assam Pedas Melaka, Telur Itik MAsak Lemak Cili Api & Betik Muda, Daging Dendeng, Ketam Berlado, Gulai Ikan Masin Nenas, Kambing Gulai Kawah and many more. The list goes on with 3 rotating menus.
Chef H'ng Wee Kiang in the team also include some Chinese specialties dishes such as Uncle Hn'g Chicken and Duck Rice Balls, Soy Sauce Egg, Nyonya Style Otak-Otak, Mantis Prawn with Salted Egg. Meanwhile, Indian corner offers delicious kari kepala ikan, dalca tulang kambing, Ayam Masak ala Chettinad, Sotong Goreng 65 and others.Â
Be sure to get some richly infused traditional erbs and spices Dum Mutton Biryani to go along with all the delicacies.Â
Every year The Light Hotel Penang also offers their specialty dishes and this year the dishes are Nasi Kurma Ayam Cincang Berempah, Braised Beef Short Ribs Malay Style, Mee Udang Galah, Asam Laksa Ikan Kembung, Popia Basah Sambal Ikan Bilis, Sotong Kangkung and Fish Head Noodle Soup.Â
Traditional Malay & Nyonya Kuih, pengat durian, pengat pisang, ais krim Malaysia, assorted pudings, cakes, agar agar and etc also have been prepared for you to choose after a delightful dining here.Â
Live rendition of Azan will be done by the Rayyan Band lead singer Helmi Irman, and you will also get to enjoy their melodius repertoire of Nasyid, Malay and Arabic songs throughout the Ramadan month.Â
