If you are looking for a contemporary and modern cafe to enjoy some great pastries, croissants and coffee, do check out Crumbz on the ground floor of City Junction Mall. I came to know the establishment of Crumbz after stumbled into an online blog, and at the same time learrn that the cafe is the branching out of the popular Mughsot Cafe. Crumbz offers a small menu, and the items that come close to be classified as main meals are bagels and sandwiches, but rest assured you have an array of pastries to choose from.
The vibes and atmosphere in Crumbz made me feel comfortable the moment I stepped into the cafe. It is spacious and brightly lit by dozens of lights. Then the display of all pastries and cakes facilitated my ordering process. Being able to appraise the food aesthetically and then place the order if I deem it fit my appetite is one great advantage. This is due to the past experiences tell me that food descriptions and pictures in menu could be deceiving.
I was here durirng lunch hours and the few items that could help to sooth my growling stomach are bagels. The Turkey and Egg Bagel is perfectly executed with golden brown crust while the interior is chewy. Could not find any fault with the bagels actually. The Almond Croissants we had are flaky and nice too.
Crumbz also offer a variety of uncommon cakes such as Pina Colada, Passion Fruit Butterscotch, Lemon Chocolate Cheesecake and others. The price of the cakes are premium but I am getting quality cakes here. For instance, the Lemon Chocolate Cheesecake is priced at RM 21 per piece and I can feel the semi-frozen chocolate layer topping the cheesy buttery layer.
And all these sweet pastries go best with a cup of coffee.
