Continental Bakery is one of the old-fashioned yet popular bakery in Georgetown, Penang serving a variety of healthy wholemeal breads and buns. I have been taking their pastries since early 2000s, and their breads particularly Cinnamon Rolls, Wholemeal English Muffins, Cheese Buns, Chicken Curry Puff and Red Bean Buns have been my all-time favourite. Well, basically all the breads or buns here are delicious. Till today, Continential Bakery still maintained its austere design and the breads are still hot selling. It is always a joy doing "shopping" here as I cannot resist to put more breads and buns into my basket!Â

So we bought some breads from Continental Bakery during lockdown and took some photos for fun. What we really like about the breads from Continental Bakery is that texture is fluffy and soft even though it is made using wholemeal, which tend to be denser in texture.Â
The breads in Continental Bakery are in high demand despite the current lockdown due to Covid-19, as we can see patrons in and out and made purchase there. However, dining has been prohibited, else we could enjoy a bowl of hot mushroom soup and spaghetti in the designated dining space.
Another fun factor in Continental Bakery is that you get to see the bread making process in the small room next to the display racks.
