Thanks to Lexis Suites Penang for hosting us
After gathering at the beachfront of Lexis Suites Penang, we embarked on the boat to a journey to Pulau Aman, an islet off the coast of Seberang Perai that is renowned for seafood, especially Mee Udang and Mee Ketam.
We were able to get a different viewpoint of Penang Second Bridge (Jambatan Sultan Abdul Halim Muadzam Shah) en route to Pulau Aman. The view is really breathtaking and I am able to witness the architectural grandeur in close view.

i) Pulau Aman
After more than half an hour boat ride with peaceful sea waves, we arrived at Pulau Aman.
The small fishing village is inhabited by about 300 people who majority are fisherman. Therefore, you can enjoy fresh seafood here, in particularly Restoran Terapung Pulau Aman which is often frequented by tourists. However, price is not cheap here. The crab showed in above picture cost RM 55, and a piece of large mantis prawn cost RM 50.
Therefore, we had Mee Rebus, Mee Goreng and Nasi Goreng. It was an unlucky day as both prawns and crabs were sold out so we were unable to enjoy Mee Udang. Nonetheless, Mee Rebus was impressive in taste, as the soup is brimming with essence derived from prawns and crabs
If you have a plan to enjoy the fresh seafood, best go for an early trip to Pulau Aman.
Apart from eating, Pulau Aman also offers various attraction such as Telaga Emas (Golden Well), which was rumoured to possess gold during British administrative time, fishing activities, Batu Perompak and even an overnight stay at chalet there.

At the meantime, search around Pulau Aman for pokok sukun (breadfruit) which is available in abundance here! Some said it tasted amazing after frying or baking. Check out the souvenir shop around Pulau Aman as many offers breadfruit produce.
ii) Pulau Rimau
After a satisfying meal and exploration in Pulau Aman, we continued our boat trip to next destination - Pulau Rimau.
Pulau Rimau is an uninhabited island, house to an active lighthouse built by British in 1885. It serves as a beacon for ships entering Penang Island via south.
We just tour the side of Pulau Rimau by boat and did not set foot into the tiny islet.
iii) Chinese Fishing Vessel Shipwreck off Penang Coast
How many days in your life you are able to see a sunken ship? Now you have the opportunity via the Island Hopping Boat Ride by Lexis Suite Penang!
As we cruised further south from Pulau Rimau, there is a Chinese Fishing Vessel shipwreck which was sunk sometime in 2018.
It is an interesting sight indeed!
iv) Pulau Kendi

The last destination is Pulau Kendi, another uninhabited island further south of Penang Island.
There was rumour that future plan might involve Pulau Kendi as a snorking destination in Penang due to its pristine beach and sea condition. During our visit there, there were several fishing boats docking by the seaside of Pulau Kendi.
The ship skipper and tour guide told us another side of Pulau Kendi has more interesting sight to see but he could not brought us there due to strong tides. Next time maybe?
Overall, the short excursion to the island around Penang Island was an enjoyable journey. This path is least explored by mainstream tourists, yet the interesting attraction warrants a visit.
