Lao Jia Fish Head Bee Hoon Tomyam and Porridge

You may consider this off beaten track Tomyam and Fish Head Bee Hoon hawker in Jalan Mahsuri, Bayan Baru if you are a avid fan of these food. The shop name is Lao Jia Fish Head Bee Hoon and located neighbouring to the famous 888 Hokkien Mee. As usual, you may customise your own bowl of noodles with a selection of ingredients, though the options available are moderate. In terms of taste, we particularly enjoyed the Bee Hoon clear soup which offers a subtle Shaoxiang wine scent

Actually these 2 bowls totalling up to RM32, which we felt slightly on a higher side. However it came with a generous quantity of fried fish fillets (you cannot choose the quantity of fish fillet as the chef will automatically add for you if you requested to have it). While the Bee Hoon clear soup was enjoyable with the light taste, the tomyam soup immensely rich and thick. As a matter of fact, it was thicken to the extent we barely have much soup to drink toward the end of the meal as most of it has been absorbed by the noodle. Nevertheless, the soup was fiery hot and much suitable for us who enjoy the heat component.
