Kenko, a low profile cafe located opposite Han Chiang School has taken Japanese style healthy and organic food into a different dimension. First, they offer the very first customization service of sushi rolls, where you can pick your meat, sauces, vegetables, toppings and create an unique sushi that fit your appetite! On top of that, they have their very own organic farm in Kulim, supplying the chefs here organic mushrooms and vegetables that you cannot get elsewhere. Of course, Kenko has managed healthy food in a delicious way with clever usage of sauces and seasoning, and you will surely change your perception toward healthy food after a visit here. All these are made possible with the man behind the Kitchen, Oscar - who has extensive kitchen experiences in overseas and worked in Miraku, Japanese restaurant in G hotel.Â

Kenko offers a range of interesting salad should you prefer something light to start your meal. Apart from their unique concoction salad Kenko Salad, another two salad choices will be Fruit Salad and Mushrom Salad, priced at RM 12.90. Contrary to the traditional salad that has greens dominating the colors, our Mushroom Salad has a generous quantity of organic mushroom sitting on a bed of greens vegetables, with corns and bread crumbs supply some crunchy factor to the salad.
Overall, it is a creative creation that deviates from the conventional salad appearance and we thoroughly enjoyed every bits of it.

Sushi lovers shall rejoice here as you can customize your very own sushi rolls that cater to your taste buds. Just follow simple steps below:
1) Pick your own protein / meat (salmon, chicken, unagi, beef slices)
2) Choose your preferred veggie
3) Select toppings
4) Choose your sauce
Well, they do have a range of sushi rolls with available formulations should you feel lazy to customize. We tried Salmon Maki (RM 15.90) and Kenko Maki (RM 11.80). Surprisingly at such affordable price tier yet we get 8 pieces of Salmon Maki!

Should you prefer a more solid meal to fit your daily energy needs, there is a range of meals provided such as Teriyaki Chicken, Beef Yaki,Teriyaki Salmon and Unagi. It will be served along with a handful of salad and a bowl of Japanese rice.
We tried their Teriyaki Chicken which come at RM 14.90 only! The chicken is cooked nicely to possess the desired tenderness, then topped with a handful of sesame for a nice subtle flavour. Meanwhile, the teriyaki sauce introduces a fancy salty sweet which is very appetizing to the chicken meats.Â
If you feel you want to get more healthier, swipe your Japanese rice with Kenko Rice (RM 6.90), which is made of mountain red & black rice, organic-barley, brown rice, buckwheat, flax seed, millet, rye grain, sorghum, oat groat and cornmeal.

Lastly, order a pot of Fruit Tea (RM 14.90) or Flower Tea (RM 15.90) to refresh yourself. We personally enjoyed the fruit tea a lot, as it uses a mixture of fruits - apple and lemon to contribute to the natural occurring sweetness of the drink.Â
Overall, the concept of Kenko is amazing and it allows diners to explore healthy food without compromising on its taste. On top of that, customization of sushi rolls also added extra fun to diners, by allowing you to choose which special combination for sushi rolls personalized to your taste.Â
