"3 days event, 45 records showcased, 39 record-breaking attempts and 7-fun-filled record titles for public". This is what happened on the second installation of MBR Live! at Gurney Plaza Penang, organized by Malaysia Book of Records from 20-22 September 2019.Â
With a theme Extraordinary Malaysia, the second installation of MBR Live! aims to inspire Malaysians to attain outstanding achievement and surpass their limit. At the same time, it serves as a platform to inspire and promote spirit of patriotism among Malaysians as they witness live record-breaking attempts, learn about extraordinary Malaysians and even attempt to become record breakers themselves.Â

The event was graced by YAB Tuan Chow Kon Yeow, Chief Minister of Penang. Thanks to Chief Minister, we managed to recall even Penang is no stranger to records, with the latest being the soon to be completed Guinness World Records for longest water slide at Escape Theme Park in Teluk Bahang.Â
At the same time, the chief minister also exercised his humor by mentioning he will be attempting to break a record by having a longest speech during that evening. This brings laughter to all the attendees immediately.Â
Over the three day event, the MBR Live! 2019 will see a range of records being showcased to public, while there are a few records breaking attempts live on the spot.
Among the records being showed real-time were "First Caffenaited Painting using Starbucks Coffee as Paint", "Most Number of Fire Torches Eaten in 60 seconds", "Fastest to Escape from Water Torture Cell", "Most Number of Reverse Palm Push Ups in 1 Minute", "Longest Non-Stop Haircuts Relay by a Group (72 hours), "Longest Non-Stop Team Relay on Treadmill in 48 hours (team of 4)" and etc.Â
At the same time, public can also engage themselves and try to be a record holder. Among the record titles open for public are fastest time to spell A-Z backwards, most number of sushis eaten without use of hands, longest time - skipping rope, fastest coin stack, fastest time to build a 15-cup stack, longest time - "Plank" position and fastest time to drink a bottle of soft drink.Â
Participants who took part in these exciting record titles are awarded with a certificate of competition.
Well, it was indeed an exciting event that brought all Malaysians together!Â
