Arena Curve in Bayan Lepas welcomes a new eatery - Shi Malatang Restaurant 食麻辣烫 that offers pick your ingredients Mala Soup and Laksa. This simple restaurant offers a slight different concept from the pick your own ingredients tomyam soup:
a) Shi Malatang Restaurant 食麻辣烫 offers Mala Soup and Laksa instead of tomyam. Clear soup is available.
b) A range of ingredients available for selection (RM 3.90/100g - vegetable; RM 5.90/100g - meat variants); and all sort of fish balls or meat balls are considered as vegetable selection!
c) Different sauce such as sesame oil, garlic and chili are available at no additional cost
d) Serve the bowl of noodle in unique golden pot
e) If you are feeling lazy, just pick the pre-customized set menu
f) It is hard to find self pick ingredients food outlet that open during lunch hour

We had our own customized Mala Soup and feel the price was not expensive. Personally, the Mala Soup was average in the level of spiciness for our tolerability. Then we added a small plate of chili oil to give it a real spice and our desired heat components. Overall, we enjoyed the hot Mala Soup.

| Pork Chop Laksa (RM 15.80) |
Pork Chop Laksa is a great deal here at the price of RM 15.80. You can see the gigantic size of the pork chop being served, and it has traits from Vietnam cuisine where you can dip into the Vietnamese alike chili sauce to bring out the flavour of the pork chop. On the other hand, the laksa tasted like Nyonya Laksa, albeit with a slight tuned down on the coconut flavour. It is served with semi-boiled egg, some beancurd and a handful of bean sprouts.
You can go for Mala Soup Pork Chop too if you prefer a more spicy dish for your lunch or dinner.
