Looking for something sweet after your dinner around Bayan Baru area? Then you may consider 品屋 Pin Wu Dessert, one of the latest addition to the range of hawker selections along Jalan Mahsuri. Pin Wu Dessert serves a range of Chinese style desserts and some snacks in a kampung style wooden house illuminated in tungsten light. Although we appreciated the variety of classic desserts and the impeccable crew service here, there is little presence of wow factors that will drive us for a returning visit.
Both 黄金栗米露 (RM 6.80) and 鸳鸯糊 (RM 6.80) we had were faint in taste and watery in texture. There were barely any corn taste in 黄金栗米露, while 鸳鸯糊 only registered a loose bitter black sesame taste with absence of peanut taste. On top of that, the 鸳鸯糊 has a sloopy presentation as depicted in the picture. Overall, we feel the consistency and taste of the desserts were attributed to the sub-par taste here.
Fortunately the 莲蓉锅饼 (RM 6.30) we had was alright in taste. Although it was served lukewarm but it has good texture. Nevertheless, it would be better if there was stronger lotus paste taste.
