Chef Shantanu is a well experienced executive sous chef at Shangri-La's Rasa Ria Resort & Spa Kota Kinabalu. Having born and raised in the eastern part of Indian, he has been honing his expertise in the Indian cuisine since 1999.

Chef Shantanu will be here in Spice Market Cafe from 29 April till 8 May 2019 to showcase a selection of Indian dishes that include Ajwaini Fish Tikka, Paneer Butter Masala, Shahi Boti, Malwani Prawn, Rara Gosht, Galouti Kebab and plenty more. During that time, the chefs in Spice Market Cafe will be leveraging his presence and learn the essence of preparing delicious and authentic Indian cuisine, then spice up the Indian cuisine corner. 

At the same time, relish your stomach with much of the gourmet in the full buffet spread comprise of Japanese, Western, Chinese, Malay, dessert on top of the special Indian cuisine.

Galouti Kebab

The Indian cuisine corner has get an elevation of food with the introduction of Galouti Kebab, Punjabi influenced Murgh Patiala, Ajwaini Fish Tikka and many more. Our favourite of the night is Galouti Kebab, a melt-in-mouth royal dish meant for a toothless king. The lamb has been minced 7 times, marinated with 13 different spices and smoked to achieve the desire softness and flavour. It packs a punch of soothing spices flavour and an incredibly soft texture that has such delectable finish.

Meanwhile, Ajwaini Fish Tikka offers you a tender yet boneless pieces of fish with a hint of spicy and pungent flavour, as it was infused by Carom seeds to give an extra kick. Despite it has been cooked and grill, the Ajwaini Fish Tikka still retain a fine moisture level to give these pieces of fish a fine level of texture.

It offers a stronger heat component that paired well with Nasi Biryani due to the marination with pepper and star anise. For a lighter taste, get their Paneer Butter Masala, which has gravy concoction of butter and cheese.

The 6-in-1 International Buffet at Spice Market Cafe, Shangri-La's Rasa Sayang Resort & Spa Penang is available every Sunday to Thursday. Price for adult is RM 168 nett and children is RM 84 nett. Pay only 60% of buffet price every Monday & Tuesday, while Golden Circle members are entitled for 40% discount on buffet price every Wednesday and Thursday. Top up RM 130 nett for free-flowing house wine, draft beers, soft drinks and chilled juices during buffet dinner.

Friday & Saturday will have See Food Seafood Buffet and priced at RM 196 nett for adult and RM 98 nett for children.
