Dry Ramen (RM 15)

We tried a few of the Ramen here and were impressed with its taste. Basically, the ramen can be differentiated into two main types - Paitan and Kuro. Both are using chicken soup boiled for 4 hours to create an amazing depth of flavour in the broth. Then depending on your own preference, you can choose the basic, Ajitaman and Special which have additional ingredients added.

Paitan Ramen offers a rich based soup with the hint of sweetness derived from the chicken. We had the special ramen that comes with a generous quantity of toppings such as chicken chasiu, chicken meatballs, black fungus, spring onions, flavoured egg and seaweed. Each of the component makes a nice complement to the al-dente ramen noodles.

Meanwhile, if you prefer a strong scent, then opt for the Kuro Ramen as the aromatic is enhanced with roasted garlic oil. When the bowl is served in front of you, practically you can scent the pungent and aromatic garlic oil. At first instance, our undiscerning nostril cannot tell the taste and only managed to say "yes, it is nice!".

For those who does not enjoy soup, probably due to hot weather and sweat a lot, go for their dry ramen. The ramen noodles are tossed in their signature mix of sweet & sour soy sauce, creating a balanced taste that soothing to the taste buds. It is served with chicken meatballs, black fungus, spring onions, seaweed, flavoured beansprouts and eggs.

TanTan-men (RM 20)

Alternatively, the TanTan-Men is something different that can be enjoyed it. It is a Chinese-Japanese fusion ramen with creamy chicken miso broth with a slightly spicy sensation due the topping with sizzling chili oil. Something like a dish that you can encounter with Szechuan restaurant but lesser heat component. Then, the noodle is served along with minced chicken, spring onions, sesame seeds and peanuts.

Tori Karaage Don (RM 13.50)

Let's say during lunch hours and you do not feel like having noodles. Then go for Tori Karaage Don at an affordable price of RM 13.50 only. Like any usual Japanese don you will see, the bowl of rice is served with Japanese style boneless fried chicken, seaweed, and mayonnaise. served with clear chicken soup. Personally, we enjoyed the combination of the boneless fried chicken and mayonnaise. It is flavourful, yet not heavy.

Tori Nanban (RM 13)

It is always good to enjoy some side dishes when eating Japanese dishes and Rising Ramen Tori has a few to offer, such as Tempura, Tamagoyaki and Tori Namban at affordable pricing.

The tempura consists of prawn tempura and mushroom tempura, and it amazingly retained its nice crunchy texture without getting greasy even though we have left them in room temperature close to an hour due to the photo shooting session.

Our personal favourite is the Tori Namban. The fried chicken are flavourful, and taru-taru sauce introduces a nice creaminess with a slight tang that consistent with every bite. Meanwhile, the Tamagoyaki - Japanese omelette is soft and fluffy to enjoy.
