Yu Kee Bak Kut Teh (佑记肉骨茶) is the most popular Bak Kut Teh in Kota Kinabalu city. The crowd at the restaurant is so immense when the dusk set in, to the extent that finding a seat will be a daunting tasks even on a weekday. Yu Kee Bak Kut Teh fame is far spread till foreign tourists from China or Hong Kong has made it a must visit place in Kota Kinabalu, as I can see there are more tourists than locals during my time dining here.

The Bak Kut Teh here is served in an unique way compared to those in West Malaysia. You have to order a single bowl of different part of pork instead of having a bowl with everything in West Malaysia. There are pork stomach, pork intestines, pork liver, pork kidney, pork legs, pork belly, pork ribs, pork tails, pork balls or blanched vegetables. 

Every eating individual will be served with a bowl of white rice, a bowl of herbal soup, a pot of Chinese tea and a few pieces of beancurd. These make as if the one portion I have for myself look glamorous and luxurious.

Price is relatively expensive compared to West Malaysia but is a norm in Kota Kinabalu. Above meal for one person which included a bowl of pork ribs and blanched vegetables cost RM 16.50. In terms of taste, the herbal soup has a light but herby taste. Meanwhile, the meat from the pork ribs are tender and enjoyable. Overall, a decent choice to dine in here should you need a quick fix of Bak Kut Teh in Sabah.

As Yu Kee Bak Kut Teh has rose to popularity and cater for a lot of Chinese tourists, the shop currently also offer Chinese dumplings and coconut puddings!
