Hard Rock Hotel hosted YMCA (Young Men's Christian Association) of Penang of their 7th edition annual Christmas Party 2018 on 9th October 2018. This year, the event bears the theme "Christmas Joy and Blessings" and it was celebrated by 175 underprivileged children from NTA Alor Setar, Persatuan Rumah Kebajikan Penyayang Ren Ai, ESDA & Chrystal Home, 23 representatives from the Homes. Of course, the event was made successful with the support of 49 volunteers hailed from Equator College, World Vision, Y Board members and staff. The day was full of vibrant energy as the kids sang, danced, played games and most importantly the event imprints a meaningful day for these underprivileged children.
Persatuan Kebajikan Rumah Penyayang Ren Ai (Home of Love) - It provides free services for underprivileged children. The children come from Semeling and surrounding villages with the majority from Semeling. Most of the children who came to the center are from single family, broken homes or living in poverty. To date the Home caters for 40 children from Standard 3 to Form 1.Â
NTA - A school for the children of the Rohingya community in Alor Setar. It was started in the home by Jamilah and her husband Nur Islam, both Rohingya themselves. In January 2011, the school took the name Life Garden Learning Center and was registered with UNHCR as a community project. To date the school caters for 60 children from 5 to 12 years' old.Â
ESDA-PPKT, or known as Persatuan Perkhidmatan Komuniti Taiping was established on 2nd January 1999 and help to reach-out to the poor, needy, youth and marginalized. To date the home caters for 40 handicapped children and adults.
Chrystal Home, Taiping - Chrystal Home started in June 2003 and caters for the underprivileged, abandoned, abused and orphands. Currently, the home is the shelter to 30 children.Â

Well, it was a different Christmas for us this year as we get to witness how the underprivileged were so excited, even though it was just a day with simple program. Great job to Hard Rock Hotel for hosting YMCA Penang for such a meaningful program!
