Le Petit Four Patisserie @ Beach Street, Georgetown, Penang

If you were to enjoy artisanal French pastries in Penang, look for Le Petit Four Patisserie in Beach Street, Penang. The in-house pâtissier cum owner, Hooi Shing is adept in churning some delicious croissants and desserts to the extent that the croissants are sold out daily before 12pm. Thus, come here early to enjoy the delicious croissants and desserts. Le Petit Four Patisserie used to operate in a small cafe along Hutton Lane and only shifted to its current location in August 2018. Another thing, finding a seat in the cafe is rather difficult especially during weekends, so be patient if you intend to enjoy one of the best croissants in the town!

The cafe features a minimalist design with concepts from European brasserie adopted. There is a long table, facing outward to the street which gives the street view. Some may find it peculiar but the view offered here is exactly how the things worked in French brasserie.

We checked in at the cafe at 1pm on a Sunday and was told the croissant were sold out! Although feeling despair, we were glad that certain selections of desserts were available still. Albeit with a higher price tags of RM 20 each for Chocolate Cointreau and Enchante, these artisanal desserts were extremely pleasing in taste.

Enchante, as its name suggests, conferred an arousing sensation with the aromatic lychee scent. Meanwhile, Chocolate Cointreau is dense to the nice level, possessing a moderately sweet chocolate scent that will please anyone who yearning for a sweet end. Slicing the chocolate ganache will unveil a layer of sleek cream filling that complemented the outer layer well.

The croissants quality are without doubt the topnotch. It has strucked our mind ever since we tried its croissants in Coffee Lane!
