Poke bowls, or better known as a rice bowls full of fresh ingredients with colourful toppings seems started to get more attention in the Penang market. The latest establishment that joins the Poke bowls fun in Penang is Tummy Bowl in Elit Avenue, and this is their second branch after the first one is being setup in Ipoh. We were impressed with both the presentation and taste of the poke bowls. For those who are in a rush, you may pick the pre-planned poke bowls while those who are adventurous can customize you very own bowl with different toppings, ingredients and sauces!

Both the signature Shoyu Salmon and our customized Coconut Chicken (pesto rice, added hot spring egg, more toppings and own choice of sauces) are great in taste. We enjoyed how the blending of different ingredients of the poke bowls created a different dimension of texture and taste. Every scoop of the poke bowl yields different concoction that has distinctive pleasant taste.

Although we had no experience of tasting the real poke bowls originating from Hawaii, we truly enjoyed the poke bowls in Tummy Bowls. It is worth another visit, either for a gustation satisfaction or simply a lunch to cure the hunger.
