People resident in Jelutong should be familiar with Soon Lai Seafood, a neighbourhood zhu char restaurant that has been entrenched in Batu Lanchang for decades. The restaurant is so popular among the locals that usually it is full house during the weekends dinner hour, as family or friends throng here for an affordable seafood dinner. Take note that they only take cash.
Many people come here for their crab beehoon / tanghoon / porridge, which we have tried previously but did not take a photo of it. For this round, we had a fresh Grunt Fish Teowchew Style (白皂鱼; RM 41) which was nicely executed with a pleasant tangy sensation. There are many other selections recommended by the crew, namely kappa, sotong and etc but we had a Butter Mantis Prawn (RM 12) instead. The creamy and sleekness were well balanced, giving a rich taste if you take the sauce to complement the white rice.
Four Heavenly Kings Vegetable (RM 10) or better known as Stir-Fried Mixed Vegetable is a good bargain in terms of taste and the price as well.
