There is a modest stall selling curry mee located about opposite of Sentosa Regency Hotel at Alor Setar. I have been observing the lone stall selling curry mee at the koptiam here has garnered quite a number of crowd in the morning and lunch hour, and curiosity drove me stepped into here. Fortunately it was a rewarding dining experience with a bowl of curry mee that has a history begins from 1973.
On contrary with Penang curry mee, Ah Lee Curry Mee is served with half a portion of hard boiled egg, 2 pieces of chicken and a small quantity of long beans. It looks like white curry mee with its pale colour, but once you add the small spoon of chili given, it really spices up the entire bowl of noodle. Though insufficient to give a real hot spicy taste, the pleasant heat taste slowly mount in the oral environment much to enjoyment. Furthermore, for a mere RM 4.50, the bowl of noodle is a real bargain.
