Beaufort Noodle, a delicacy that is unique to Sabah due to its unique noodle texture is well appreciated among Sabahans. Fortunately, for any visitors who are visiting Kota Kinabalu, you can enjoy this local delicacy at Restaurant Beaufort in Kota Kinabalu without travelling to Beaufort, which is located about 90 minutes from capital city. Most importantly, the taste is equally identical and amazing.
The uniqueness of the plate of noodles lie within the own made noodle which possess a springy texture. Known by locals as "Mee Goreng Basah", the noodle is fried and then inundated with starchy gravy, similar to the Char Hor Fun without egg in Penisular Malaysia. At Restaurant Beaufort, the noodle is served with delicious Hakka style pork belly, generous quantity of sawi manis (napa cabbage) and some fried onions. That is why there are hint of fragrance upon some moments when savouring the noodle.
The entire plate of noodle is nice on its own and there is no such need to add on any other seasoning such as chili or soy sauce.
I believe the restaurant is famous of its 梅菜扣肉 too as the traits of it can be tasted in their beaufort noodle.
