Seafood on the Rocks Buffet @ Hard Rock Hotel Penang

Hard Rock Hotel Penang is famous of providing an energetic and fun-filled experience with its vast amenities but their buffet is equally rocking as well. Available on every Friday and Saturday 6:30pm - 10:30pm, Seafood on the Rocks buffet serves Japanese and Chinese cuisine including a vast array of fresh seafood, soup, hot seafood appetizers and entrees at Starz diner. The buffet is priced at RM 95 nett per adult and RM 55 nett for children aged 6 - 12.

As the buffet name implies, the core of the buffet at Hard Rock Hotel Penang would be their seafood on the ice. Enjoy a galore of fresh seafood such as oysters, mussels, scallops, prawns and bamboo clams, served freshly and raw on the ice. Fret not as these seafood are in pristine condition and does not emit any funky smells upon savouring. If you are concern about the smell, drizzles of lime or droplets of Tobasco should do the work.

The feast should not stopped at the seafood alone, as there are many mouth-watering dishes such as Honey BBQ chicken wings, roasted chicken, five spiced lambs, kinoko (Japanese mushrooms), prawns, dim sum and assorted buns, all in Chinese style located beside the seafood on the ice counter. The chefs can be seen non stop frying, delicious tempura; and their onion tempura ring is in particular our favorite.

Hot dishes counter are separated into two sections. Other than above we mentioned, do check out the other sections nearby the entrance that features some of the delight such as steamed fish fillet with lime & garlic, Chawan mushi Unagi, wok fried mussels with chili egg flower sauce, stir fried beef with ginger & spring onion and crispy chicken with mint sauce (our favorite of the night)

There are freshly cut sashimi and sushi in the Japanese section as well; and it comes with pungent wasabi. Be wary of that! Interestingly, even the appetizers section has strong traits of Japanese cuisine.
