Golden Bowl made to the headline in Penang market when they launched the Tomyam noodles topped with a slice of cheese in a kopitiam. Soon, their business expanded its selections to include a variety of soup bases, such as Signature Curry, Thai Tomyam, Kyoto Shoyu and Spicy Kimchi. If you prefer a lighter meal, all day Western style breakfast is available. Despite we thought the idea of having cheese on tomyam noodles was a hype, Golden Bowl success continued till today and managed to garner a group of staunch supporters and currently they own 3 branches in Penang, one being at New World Park.Â

For a different variant of the cheesey noodles, Golden Bowl is now offering a Signature House Curry (RM 12.90). The usage of curry resulting a richer and creamy taste, though sinful but probably can satiate those who has an affection of bolder taste.
If you are someone who is health conscious and prefer a lighter version of breakfast, Yoona's Korean Rice Bowl (RM 13.90) and Australian Shakshuka (RM 18.00) might serve as good alternatives at Golden Bowl. These are not the very best we have tried but serve alright as a breakfast choice as a substitution toward the regulars breakfast we see in the morning market.Â
At night, Golden Bowl restaurant transforms to Golden Mookata, and you can enjoy some steamboat here.Â
