Habee's Kitchen 哈吡食馆海鮮粉 @ Jalan Bawasah, Georgetown, Penang

Habee's Kitchen at Jalan Bawasah offers gourmet with East meets West concept, but the east meets west applies to East Malaysia meets West Malaysia. The humble restaurant offers a noodle-centric menu with a slight variation from the hawkers' choice, as there are options for bitter gourd soup, milky soup with cooking wine, tomato soup and some other selections.

Hakka Fried Pork Dry Noodles (RM 10.50)
Although the appearance of Hakka Fried Pork Dry Noodles look like alike to wantan mee, but the noodles choices and sauce are different. The noodles are al-dente and well coated with the bold soy sauce that gives a pleasant salty taste. However, what we enjoyed the most on this plate of noodle is the Hakka fried dry pork. Its fried to perfection, and the taste is great thanks to the good fermentation and marination process. After all the bold taste, wash away your tongue with the clear soup provided.

Sabah Tomyam (RM 14.90) with fried fish

We are not sure whether this is the real version of Sabah Tomyam or not, as my few years experience in Sabah tells me otherwise. However, setting aside the arguement, the tomyam is great in taste, having a little bit milky taste with a mild spiciness. What we appreciate is the fried fish is served separately from the tomyam soup to prevent it become soggy after being "flooded" with the soup. An excellent choice for a chill night. You may choose the preferred type of noodles for the tomyam.

Fish Skin
The fish skin served here is nicely fried and not oily. We can hear each other munching the fish skin whenever we put it into mouth, a clear sign signifying its crispiness. We wonder if coating it with salted egg yolk would make this simple snack a luxury, which is too sinful to enjoy?
