A Wine Appreciation Dinner was hosted by Feringgi Grill, the fine dining restaurant at Shangri-La's Rasa Sayang Resort & Spa, Penang on 28th April 2018 to celebrate its outstanding achievement of winning the "Best Innovative Restaurant" in the international category at the Malaysia Tourism Awards 2017/2017.

Conceptualized by the Malaysian Ministry of Tourism and Culture, this accolade is recognized throughout the country and chaired by an independent panel of judges within a range of standardized criteria. The award: 

1) Acknowledges the contribution of the restaurant industry and honours dining outlets serving the highest quality food
2) Placing their patrons first while utilizing innovative method to continuously deliver the buest customer service.

Nick Flynn, the resident manager

Nick Flynn, the resident manager was in jubilance mood when addressing the guests and members of media. He highlighted 3 main key components to be appreciated into getting the restaurant receives such an accolade:

1) The Feringgi Grill's team, which included his team, the culinary and service team for their hard work and constant dedication
2) The suppliers, which included food, meat, wine, champagne, foie gras and other business partners. Without these group of suppliers, Feringgi Grill cannot sustain
3) The guests at Feringgi Grill who comes from various places. 

He also wished Feringgi Grill was 5 times of the current size so he can fit in more guests as today the restaurant only can host up to 120 guests at once.

All guests were embarked on an innovative seven-course dinner with wine pairing during that evening, and we were entertained by a pianist and songstress from De Leon Jazz Experience entertained guests throughout the evening.

The menu was specially crafted by Chef De Cuisine Thibaut Pouplard and his culinary team.

We had a wonderful evening at Feringgi Grill, and Chef Thibaut, his service team, headed by Restaurant Manager Mohd Farouk has certainly done an excellent job throughout the year to get recognize by Ministry of Tourism and Culture Malaysia for the award.

Feringgi Grill definitely is the ideal destination for guests looking for an exceptional fine dining experience if you happen to be in Penang.
