If you are wandering around Kota Kinabalu City and looking for a place to chill down and relax a while, then Nook Cafe which is located a stone's throw away from Gaya Street shall worthy your consideration.
Nook cafe is separated into an air-conditioned indoor section and an open outdoor section, should you prefer to enjoy some natural wind or get a cigarette break. The cozy and spacious ambiance makes Nook Cafe a perfect place for a laid back afternoon.
I was looking for a solid lunch item to satiate my hunger but unfortunately the items such as Ayam Percik and Pesto Pasta were not available. They offered me Salmon Teriyaki but i was not in the mood of having fish, thus waffle - Jungle Book (RM 18) was what I had for that day lunch.
Though the presentation of the waffle was impressive but the taste was a tad lackluster. The texture was soggy and doughy, but luckily it was salvaged by the banana toppings and ice cream. Nevertheless, the peanut butter cream was too surfeiting and ended up I put them aside. It was an average waffle. On the other hand, coffee - Cappuccino (RM 10) was alright.
All in all, Nook Cafe is a nice place to snuggle with a cup of coffee, and I got to wait till I tasted their other items on the menu before could comment further.
