Ixora Hotel's January & February CNY 2018 Promotion

To welcome the year of dog, Ixora Hotel has rolled out a Prosperous Chinese Course Set effective from 15th January - 2 March 2018, with two different packages of 6 and 8 courses that priced at RM 738 and RM 938 nett respectively. The Chinese Course set features some heavyweights such as fresh prawns, steamed fish, Marmalade Duck and an interesting Chef Special Combination Cold platter, and is real value of money. Imperial Buffet Lunch with 6 types of menu also runs on weekdays from 1st January till 28th February for a price at RM 45 nett for adults.

Chef Special Combination (8 Course Items)

The first platter of 8 course set is an assortment containing all the chefs' specialties, dressed by a golden coloured "tree" which is made of fried spaghetti noodles (which can be eaten and taste like candy floss) to symbolize a sign of prosperous. The Chef Special Combinations platter serves as appetizers that will take care of a group of people with different palate, featuring fragrant crunchy squids, aromatic spices abalone slices, golden dragon shrimps, breaded scallops and coral jellyfish.

Double Boiled Spinach with Crab Meat Soup (8 Course Items)

We were taken aback when Double Boiled Spinach with Crab Meat Soup, the soup on 8 course menu was served to us. The greenish colour does not look appealing but surprisingly, the taste tells otherwise. Soup is not fibrous but in fact gives a sleek finishing which goes well with the complex taste buds, with a hint of peppery and sweet taste. Such a delicate dish must have come from the chef delicate crafting.

Steamed Fish with Superior Seasoning (6 Course Items)

Any Chinese New Year Course will be rendered incomplete without a fish, which is symbol of prosperity for the Chinese. The fish when purposely eaten with a slight left over, carries the auspicious homophonic for there being surpluses every year. For Ixora Hotel 6 course menu, they rolled out a Steamed Fish with Superior Seasoning, while the 8 course menu features a giant - Steamed Atlantic Dragon Tiger Grouper with Aromatic Sauce.

Wok- fried Prawns with Chef’s Special Sauce (6 Course Items)

Apart from fish, patrons should expect to be treated with another seafood delicacy - prawns on either the 6 or 8 courses menu. Wok-fried Prawns with Chef's Special Sauce, which the prawns are dressed with teriyaki sauce to give a sweet and salty taste, then topped up with white sesame for a distinctive aroma.

Warm Sweetened Papaya Yogurt Puree with Glutinous Rice Balls (8 Course Items)

For 8 course menu, do expect a Warm Sweetened Papaya Yogurt Puree with Glutinous Rice Balls as dessert, which brings a symbol of unity and togetherness.

Cake of The Month January & February – Spicy Chocolate Cake

Spicy Chocolate Cake is the cake of the month for January and February. It is a naughty version of dessert, alternating between sweet and spicy taste when the cake is scooped to the mouth. At moments, we were wondering whether it is a cake, or some other delicacies due to the burn sensation the cake introduces. Nevertheless, we thought it is a good sign, as the fibers from the chili might help to burn the calories from the consumption of the chocolate.
