If you are a fan of sourdough breads or buns in Penang, most likely you have heard of Yin's Sourdough, a bakery that produces their one of a kind sourdough breads using their very own baker's yeast, unbleached flour, salt and water only in their breads. This offers a healthier and more natural bread choices that might appeal to certain individuals' expectations. Recently, they have expanded their business into Yin's WholeFood Manufactory at Promenade, a new commercial area in Bayan Lepas. Over here, they offer a thorough set meal for their customers though still practicing the healthier food concepts by applying the idea "from farm to table", whereby most of the goodies served are organic produce and made from scratch. The neighbouring Zenxin organic shop allows Yin's WholeFood Manufactory to have great access to organic produce.Â
Yin's WholeFood Manufactory segregated its menu to breakfast (8am - 12pm), lunch (12pm - 2.30pm), afternoon indulgence (2.30pm - 6.00pm), dinner (6.00pm - 10.00pm) and a small section  on all day menu. However, not many food choice selections are available on each of the menu section. The lunch set comes with a soup, main and a nutmeg lime juice with a flat rate of RM 25. If you are a coffee person like us, just top up RM 6 to enjoy a cup of coffee but limited to latte, cappuccino or flat white only. This kind of depressed us because we would not mind top up a few ringgits to enjoy a cup of mocha but it was disallowed.Â
It is noted the nutmeg lime juice served in the set lunch is exceptionally refreshing. How we wish we could get unlimited refill for the cup.
Our soup of the day was pumpkin soup served with sourdough croutons and herbs. It tasted clean, light, delicious and well seasoned, just nice to open the appetite for the mains.
Although Roasted Chicken Sandwich may appear to be insufficient to satiate a man's stomach but it was quite stomach fulfilling eventually. The breads were well toasted to crisp, then sandwiching a piece of well seasoned roasted chicken with a generous quantity of leaves. Overall, the taste was well executed.Â
Grilled vegetable and mushroom spaghetti possesses a robust herb and earthy taste. The spaghetti are cooked al-dente, then topped with generous quantity of mushrooms and cheese slices. We reckon the feedback to this spaghetti will vary greatly as it is very much subjected to personal acceptance level of the "greenish" sensation.

Head over to the counter beside the cashier for some sweet ends. There are a few cakes selection that caught our attention, namely Rum & Raisin Cheeescake, Beetroot Cheescake and Black Sesame Cheesecake. The Rum & Raisin Cheesecake is big in portion and packed with a strong cheese taste. Rum and raisin flavor however was somehow a tad loose. Perhaps the taste would be elevated with another variant of rum being used.
If you are a person taking seriously about healthy cooking and have some time to spare, head over to the connecting neighbour unit to do some groceries shopping. From what we understand, these are the ingredients that were being used to prepare the food at Yin's WholeFood Maunfactory.Â
