Pallet Cafe @ Sungai Petani, Kedah

Pallet Cafe is a rather modern cafe with cozy design, tucked in the commercial lot at Lagenda Heights in Sungai Petani. Interestingly, while most food outlets tend to establish themselves on the ground floor to ease patrons' access, Pallet Cafe deviates from the usual trend by setting up on second floor but maintained a strong visibility using a big signboard at the exterior. Despite its slight disadvantage located on second floor, its food and environment managed to become a pulling factors for guests.

Signature Grilled Chicken (RM 17.90) did leave a good impression for us. We failed to identify what constitute its special sauce, then only the server revealed to us it is a homemade recipe from their chef whom has experience in preparing Australia cuisine. We liked its sweetness, then nicely seasoned with pepper to give the bland chicken meat a pump in the taste.

Salad with sesame sauce

For lunch hour, each main dish is served along with 2 side dishes of your choice and we thought salad with sesame sauce is a great option. The portion is big, and drizzle sesame sauce on the salad is tantalizing.

While Pallet Cafe does brew a decent cup of coffee with averagely nice coffee scent, we thought the coconut macchiato has too overwhelming coconut scent with coconut flakes, thus undermining the essence of coffee. Meanwhile, the latte mudslide is impressive.
