12 finalists were vying to be crowned as the champion in the grand finale after going through 3 elimination heats from the initial 36 contestants.

The grand final offers a twist to the standard singing competition format as the finalists were required to perform a song of their own choice and a second song later as a duet. Each duet partner was picked randomly at the end of third heat.

Gracing the event was Dato' Zainal Abidin, the voice of iconic songs such as Hijau, Orak Arek and Kau di Hatiku. Dato' Zainal was leading the panel of judges, which included Datin Angelina Asmawi and 3 other judges. The crowd was further elated when he performed his solo hit "Hijau" during the end of the event.

The competition was so intense that got Dato' Zainal into a conundrum of picking the winners.
