G Hotel Gurney is pleased to launch George R. Tow's art works last week. Geroge R. Tow, a local artist who is born and raised in Penang dedicated his first solo art exhibition to G Hotel Gurney. A total of 16 paintings are displayed in this art exhibition entitled "Gems of Heirloom" at G Art Gallery, Level 1.
George is such a living miracle. 10 years ago, he discovered that he was left with less than a year's time to live, but then he found his passion for painting gave him hope. With his love for colours and strokes, his visions are then transformed into tangible art pieces. Up to date, he has created 184 pieces of painting. "I hopes that my art collectors can pass on his paintings to their heirs, from generation to generation." George added.
George's exhibition will be ongoing from September 5th, 2017 till October 31st, 2017. His artworks are all available for sale. Those who are interested in his art pieces may approach the reception counter for inquiries.
After the launch, members of the media were invited to enjoy light refreshment at G Lounge for luscious variety of desserts, savoury snacks and drinks.

G Lounge is the longest hotel bar in the island, with cleverly designed space as an extension to the hotel's main reception. Measuring 46 feet, equipped with slump in couch to give the guest a feeling like home, but in luxury way. There are 10 types of cupcakes freshly baked everyday using only the finest and best ingredients, with the price tag of RM 12 each. If you prefer bite size cupcakes, they have 3 types of mini cupcakes as well, at RM 12 for 2. Each cupcake were decorated delicately using cream and garnished, not only it is cute to look at but also picturesque. Dessert lovers will be spoil for choice. To further exult in the cupcakes. Bitter Sweet promotion offers a cup of hot coffee or tea with a cupcake of your choice at RM 25.Â

The French pastry, Macaroons come in 2 different flavours which are Blueberry and Apricot. It is freshly made daily as well to ensure freshness with quality of this sweet meringue-based confection. It is sold at RM 12 for 4 pieces.

We moved on to the bar bites with their 12 newly introduced menu. Spinach Dip is our favourite and is guaranteed addictive. This creamy dip s made of cheese, spinach and cream, best compliment with the toasted French bread or fries.

Our another savoury favourite would be their Mushroom Quiche. Perfectly sauteed mushrooms in the bed of creamy cheese with crusted edge. Charcoal Burger, their Chef's recommended option for those who are looking for serious meal. It comes with a choice of homemade beef or chicken patty, topped with beef slice, fried egg, gruyere, gherkin pickles, palm tomato and baby lettuce.
There is a long list of drinks on the menu for guest to pick a glass or two, from beers to wines, aperitifs, liquors, whisky, cocktails, mocktails and other non-alcoholic drinks. If you are yearning for surprises, head on to the G Bar Creations (RM 35 each) and choose from their in-house special curated alcoholic drinks including Atlantic Breeze, Chocolada, Malaysian Dream and Rum Jungle.
