En route to Sungai Petani town upon exit from the southern toll exit, we spotted a big sign board bearing the name Bang Chik Char Koay Teow. It occupy a large area at the exterior part of the outlet with dozens of tables setup there, seemingly preparing to attend for a large crowd.
When we arrived, we were impressed with the big fire arising from the cooking station just beside all the tables. Subconsciously, we were imbued with the impression that "Wow, this Bang Chik Char Koay Teow must have possess excellent heat level, or aka wok hei".
Sometimes, we really enjoy Malay Char Koay Teow when the flat noodles (koay teow) are bathe in the delicious sweet sauce. For Bang Chik Char Koay Teow, the sauce carries a hint of sweet taste but heat level was far from expectations. Another vivid taste impregnated into the sauce is the prawn flavour, which preference might vary across individuals.
As it was a windy night, we ordered a bowl of tomyam soup and it turned out to be great. It delivers a rightfully tomyam taste powered by spices with moderate level of spiciness. Definitely will come back here to enjoy more of their tomyam!
