KIM's BBQ Korean Food @ Arena Curve, Bayan Lepas, Penang

Lunch at RM 29.90 Adult, RM 17.90 Children

Dinner at RM 39.90 Adult, RM 19.90 Children

KIM'S Korean Restaurant has branched out to Arena Curve in Bayan Baru, after their Jalan Tavoy's branch has gained popularity among Penangites. They serve a variety of Korean dishes and all time favorite Korean BBQ with acceptable price ranges (Korean food are usually on a steeper price range in Malaysia anyway).

One of the complimentary dishes that caught both our attention and appetite is their cheesy sweet corn. It is constantly heated on the table to ensure the cheese does not coagulate, letting us truly enjoy it.

A minimum 2 person order (or 2 types of meat) is required to initiate the Korean BBQ. More than 10 over selections are available, with some premium choices of meat such as Yangnyeom Galbitsal (marinated beef rib meat) and Jangjeo Guigui (seasoned grilled eel) that cost more at least RM 70 per serving.

We had Wine Samgyeopsal (Wine Braised Pork Belly, RM 34.90) and Dwaeji-Galbi (Marinated Pork, RM 35.80). While we thought the meat portion are adequate for 2 persons, the marination is slightly weak for our liking. We could not really tell what are the essence within the meat. Most of the time we used the chilies and sauces to derive a greater pleasure for our taste buds.

Kimchi-Jjigae (Kimchi Stew, RM 21.80) is rightly flavor and suit our taste buds well. Despite it was a scorching hot afternoon and the kimchi stew was serving piping hot, we enjoyed it much, partly thanks to the air conditioned environment as well.
