Kraffmen is the latest addition to the list of cafes in Penang and they possess a trait that clearly distinguish themselves. Representing Melbourne Coffee Culture, they offer some exquisite brunch that are unconventional on usual cafes' menu. We are certainly impressed with their brunch selection and of course the satisfaction it brought to our gustation journey. Moreover, the cafe minimalist design with a balance of grey and white colour desire us to linger there longer for a lazy afternoon, coupled with a cup of coffee.Â
Blueberry Hotcakes (RM 22) is a wonderful selection for the brunch. The flat pancake served hot and nicely crafted to possess a fluffy texture, then topped with winter berries, strawberries, seeds and a layer of mascarpone parfait, garnished by mint leaves to give it an artisanal presentation. Combination of the hotcakes and mascarpone parfait were perfect, yielding a light and balance taste profile for a light brunch. For once, we mistakenly though the mascarpone parfait were yogurt due to its slight acidic sensation.Â
Omelette is a classic affair for brunch but how about Omelette Souffle (RM 17)? At Kraffmen, our taste buds get to enjoy this fluffy egg creation. It is served along with well seasoned sauteed mushroom, smoked potatoes and baby spinach. On top of that, addition of feta cheese into the egg concoction resulted a rightly tune pleasant salty taste.Â

Matcha Latte (RM 10) was slightly off the mark for us. The milk taste was too overwhelming even as latte for our liking, resulting a loss of the coffee and matcha scent. Banana + Salted Caramel (RM 14)Â had a nice presentation, and the taste was well balanced between the rich milk and fresh banana feeling.
The brunch menu is limited till 5pm only. Dinner menu will come in after, and we were intrigued to try them out if there is opportunities.
