Seafood Buffet Dinner @ Spice Market, Shangri-La's Rasa Sayang Resort & Spa, Batu Ferringhi, Penang

The focus of the Seafood Buffet Dinner will be their giant Pearl Grouper displayed at the live cooking counter. The live Grouper Pearl is weighed more than 20kg, and is the fresh catch of the day. Then, it is prepared to Grouper fillets with selection of sauces for the guests to enjoy. 

Patrons to seafood buffet dinner at Spice Market are definitely well pampered by the multi regional fresh seafood choices here.  Assortment of seafood is being displayed on the ice, including steamed fresh Tiger Prawns, Yabbies (freshwater crustaceans), Slipper Lobsters, Japanese Scallops, Green Lips Mussels and Snow Crab legs.

The seafood feast continues at the hot dishes counter with a few exquisite dish such as seafood Thermidor, oysters with tomato cheese, baked lobster with curry mayo or cheese sauce. 

Actually the buffet should be started small from the cold cut platters, taking a bit nip from the smoked Mackerel, beef pastrami, chicken terrine or smoke duck. Then, take some breads from the counter and make your own canapés. 

For cheese connoisseurs, be blissful over the Blue Cheese, Emmental Cheese, Brie Cheese and Gouda Cheese offered. A few selections for cheese pairings such as apricots, dry mangoes, nuts and etc are provided for an ultimate relishing of the cheeses' potential.

To appease the carnivorous' appetite, Spice Market chefs made some delicate carvings, namely roasted rib eye of beef with various condiments and herb crusted baked salmon with lemon cream sauce nearby the live action counter. 

Japanese food lovers would be attracted by the display of sushi and Sashimi assortment, just upon entrance to Spice Market. The chefs here have diligently roll out trays of Maki and Nigiri Sushi and various rolls for the guests' enjoyment. Meanwhile, fresh Sashimi cuts such as scallops, salmon, red & white tuna, Hokkigai, Unagi, abalone, Shime Saba are prepared endlessly behind the counter. 

Drop by the Asian and Indian counter to get a few sticks of local delicacies such as lamb & chicken satay, or pick the fiery hot Indian style prawn curry or fish Tikka Masala, and couple them with naan or chapati. The chicken Tikka and Tandoori lamb displayed at the counter are definitely alluring too.

From time to time, the chef in the noodle station is seen performing live noodle kneading action. Choose either clear chicken soup or supreme fish stock, and pick a few ingredients and noodles of your choice for a bowl of piping hot Chinese style noodle.

For a sweet ending, a special counter has been allocated to serve all kinds of desserts and cakes. There is a live pastry cooking section to prepare crepes with condiments to guess upon request. Kids will be delighted to discover the chocolate fondue station with various sweet at the very corner of Spice Market. 

The dining areas constitute of indoor and outdoor. Indoor would be the cozy place to enjoy your dinner under air conditioning, plus you are close to the food. If you choose outdoor, you would be enjoying the sea breeze melody, also it is smoking friendly zone.
