Ever since we ventured ourselves into working world, our body tends to develop the stiffness after continuous long hour driving or in Shirleen's case, sitting and bending her neck during her jewelry crafting in Shirleen Jeweliciouss. Lest not hope the body fatigue was a symptom of aging instead.
Then we started to look for some decent massage, totally understood that massage was never a luxury expenditure but is a need. The reputation of the luxury massage centre and spa in hotels or big establishment were convincing enough but the price was far from our wallet ability.
We attempted several massage outlet by purchasing vouchers from Groupon, or better known as Fave currently. Nonetheless, the results were not really satisfactory and we somehow giving up on purchasing massage vouchers via Fave. Recently, we randomly bumped into this Java Spa along Jalan Masjid Negeri and we were satisfied with the massage here.Â
Java Spa is an Indonesian style massage centre, and all the masseuse here are trained masseuses from Indonesia. Previously the centre is located at Jalan Perak but the establishment has since moved to a shoplot at Jalan Masjlid Negeri to cater for more customers. Moreover, there are parking spaces provided within the shop compound for drivers.Â
Conventional massage therapy such as aromatherapy massage, food reflexology and traditional Javanese massage are offered to customers. Some exclusive massage treatment such as hot stone massage, Thai herbal massage and V massage are available as well.Â
During our visit, we tried the hot stone massage therapy. The massage therapy session uses lava stones dipped in hot water and have it rolled over different parts of the body. No joke! We could feel the heat from the water in the therapy room but the skillful masseuse makes sure the hot stones were rolled over in fast pace without causing burn to our body parts.
According to the masseuse, hot stone massage will help to improve the blood circulation and relax muscles. True enough, our stiff shoulder muscles relaxed after the 2 hours session and we were satisfied with it. Next trip, we shall be back for the Thai Herbal Massage.Â
We enjoyed the ginger tea after the treatment. Java Spa does offer a few packages for frequenters, and do check with the front desk lady for more information.
