China Restaurant （东北餐厅） @ Chinatown, Singapore

We thought of heading to Chinatown Food Complex for a supper but we never know the hawkers there ceases operation at 10:30pm. Feeling disappointed, we wandered nearby and saw many China restaurant still operating, and almost all the person in charge of the restaurant was trying to woo us into the restaurant for dining. Being left on the fence, we randomly walked into a Sichuan restaurant - China Restaurant for our stomach therapy.

The menu featured an extensive dish of Chinese dishes, from rice, noodles to skewers. We saw quite a number of China patrons dine in here, which could be a good sign symbolizing the quality of food.

We randomly ordered a few skewers for sampling purposes, partly due to the inexpensive price tags - $1 per skewer. The Mutton Skewer was well marinated and also displayed a pleasant degree of pungent taste, which really appease to our taste. For Bun Skewer, it was grilled to toast like texture and the chili marination was all the factor that decided the deliciousness of it. Pork Skewer on the other hand was mediocre.

In fact, there were many interesting items on the skewer list which we really felt like ordering but we have to restraint ourselves due to bad currency exchange rates.

The Sour and Spicy Noodl （酸辣粉, $5) tasted ok when it was served hot but the taste gradually fade off when it cooled down. It was served with mung bean sprout and potato starch noodle, a specialty from Si Chuan.

On the other hand, Yang Chow Fried Rice ($5) was plain in taste. We actually added on some chillis and soy sauce to spice it up.

The Fresh Dumplings ($6) was mediocre. We felt the dumpling skin was slightly think and somehow the freshness of the fillings were overshadowed by the dumpling skin. Dunk them with vinegar or soy sauce and it shall taste good.
