Cheng Mun Chee Kee Pig Organ Soup 正文志记猪什汤大王 is a hidden gem which we bumped into accidentally. Located at Foch Rd, we walked pass here after a not full meal at Kok Kee Wanton Mee. They serve mainly Pork Organ Soup and a variety of side dishes.
The signature here is the Pork Organ Soup ($4/$6). We ordered the $4 bowl and it was really a deal. It comes with tofu, meat ball, lean meat, pork belly, stomach, liver, immersed in a peppery and salty soup. The soup was one of the best soup we have tasted, as it packed with a bold and piquant flavor. Saltiness might be derived from the preserved vegetables and not due to enormous quantity of salt added.
We read from the Internet that the soup can be topped up free of charge. It will be a wonderful choice for a raining night.
We ordered a steamed minced meat with chesnut and salted fish ($2) for the sake of testing. It turned out to be an excellent choice. The soup and fluffy meat was tasty, and best if there was a bowl of porridge.
