Brussels Beer Cafe at Gurney Paragon is their 6th outlet across Malaysia, after setting foot in Klang Valley and Johor. It is a great place to enjoy variety Belgian dishes. Patrons can stop by for a quiet pint and mingle around the bar, or gather with friends in the cozy environment for a wonderful dinner, or pinch off the night with colleagues at the restaurant outdoor setting for a relaxing evening.
In fact, we have noticed this restaurant long ago but never been here, partly concerned on the price. Nevertheless, this trip has totally wiped off the concern as the food here is truly tantalizing, and the price tags were reasonable and justifiable. Another worthy mention is they also serve draft Hoegaarden, Stella Artois and Leffe fresh off the tap. Services were attentive and topnotch in quality.
Moules-friters, which means mussels and fries is a must try in Brussels Beer Cafe, considering this is Belgium national dish. Served in the portion of 500gm, it is best shared among 3-4 people. A few options of cooking the moules is offered, and options to go with fries or rye breads are provided to cater for local needs. The fresh mussels is air flown to the restaurant and subject to availability.Â
We went for Moules Hoegaarden, which is cooked with coriander, celery, lemon zest and Hoegaarden beer. It was totally a relish savouring the juicy mussels, with a sweet ending of Hoegaarden taste scented in the end. Upon chomping the mussels from the shell, ample of soup is left and best coat it with the rye breads for an ultimate experience.Â
 Brussels' Style Pork Knuckles is another must try here. The pork skin is roasted to perfection till the extent that loud crackling sound could be heard across the table when one is snapping the skin, yielding maximum pleasure. The meat was tender and soft, with a slight hint of saltiness. Mix the brown sauce for a much stronger taste.
Smoked Duck Breast released a nice smokey scent upon serve which could be smell inches away. The fatty part of the duck breast though undesirable for health but it yields the satisfaction savouring them. Mix with the orange colour sauce, which was actually spicy sauce to spice up the flavour.Â
Deep fried to golden colour and crisp, the Belgian Croquette had potatoes and bacon as filling. Drip the yellow cream cheese on the potato for a cheesy sensation.Â
Rest assured the Roasted Pork here is totally off different settings compared to those selling at hawkers. While hawkers' roasted pork focused more on marination, the version here had it treasure lies within its skin. Crackling sound was heard aloud when snapping the skin, signifying the superior quality of processing.Â

Slab of Pork Spare Ribs had a huge piece of pork ribs with tender meat served on an artificial wooden plank. Pour brown sauce provided for a much solid taste. If you prefer a more individualized version, opt for Pork Schnitzel.Â

For some whom prefers to have a carbohydrate meal, there are a few choices of pasta available. We sampled their Carbonara and thought the cream could have been much thicker.Â
Brussels' Chicken ain't any simple chicken steak drenched with brown sauce. It was actually chicken roulade with mushrooms and onions, served sauteed asparagus, Belgian stoemp and finishing with a rosemary reduction to give it a sweet ending.Â
Blind Finches is actually minced pork wrapped with streaky bacon, braised in Leffe Blonde onion sauce.Â
We ended the night with Pink Panna Cotta with Hoegaarden Rose. The sweet scent from the Hoegaarden Rose was enjoyable and the Panna Cotta was similar to a harder version of pudding.
