Jinggo Dakgalbi @ Elit Avenue, Penang

The trending of Korean eatery in Penang has been mushrooming lately. At Elit Avenue, a third Korean restaurant - Jinggo Dakgalbi has joined the trend after K-Food and KO.B.Q. Operating with a slight different settings, Jinggo Dakgalbi specialised in serving Dakgalbi (stir frying marinated diced chicken in gochujang based sauce), while a few ala carte dishes such as pancakes and ramen soup are offered.

Same as other Korean restaurants, some complimentary dishes were provided though the varieties are lesser here. The complimentary kimchi is delectable with a fresh and slight sourish taste. Complimentary water is provided as well if you did not order any drink.

The Dak Galbi can be ordered in a set for 2 or 4 pax, and it comes with a few add ons such as cheese, rice cakes and sweet potatoes. You may pick another add on, or 2 by paying extra RM 4 from the selection available except chickens. Of course, if you love to gorging on the chicken then you can choose to add chicken for another RM 20. Option for original or super spicy for is available.

We opted for fried rice for the add-on. By the meaning of fried rice, it will be stirred fried with the Dak Galbi set. Otherwise it would be real funny if we were served a separate fried rice.

The restaurant has infused South East Asian cooking culture into it as they offered us Basil leaves. If you are not tolerable to the taste of it, remember to convey the messages to the respective chef.

The good thing is that cooking is handled by the servers here. Otherwise the inexperienced us might ended having some charcoal chicken cubes instead. The whole cooking process takes about 15-20 minutes, so just sit down and relax while watching the chef prepares the food.

This is the final results after all the cooking process. Looks tempting with the cheese but it was real sinful to consume such a heavy load of carbohydrates of fat. The super spicy Dak Galbi version was not spicy, instead it tasted slightly sweet for us.

Look at the amount of cheese. If look from far away, I would have mistaken it as some sort of pizza instead.
