With just their third outlet setup at Bay Avenue, a stone's throw away from Queensbay Mall, Berlin's Bier Houz is primed to be a premium hangout place. Being a Bavarian home styled concept outlet, Berlin's Bier Houz offers a wide selection of exotic wine and authentic European meals.Â
Working adults, businessman or expatriate would definitely love this place by enjoying a few pints of beer and listen to music before heading back home to de-pressure themselves after a hectic day in work.
There is an extensive range of dishes available, from salad, soup, burger & hotdog, pork knucles, pizza, main courses, pasta, desserts. We had a tough time on choosing our desired food.
We had Berlin's Special Pork Ribs (RM28.80). The ribs tasted fine and the sauce well spiced up the lean meat. I realised it will be easier if I had use my hand to speed up the process of devouring it.Â
There were only 2 of us so we picked half portion of German Pork Knuckles (RM28.80). The crispy and a tad salty pork skin is delicious but the meat was rather dull. It was fortunate they provided Connor's Original Stout™ reduction sauce for dipping the meat. Otherwise we find it hard to finish the platter. Anyhow, the meat was well balanced in the fats and lean meat though.
A glass of Malesan Carbent Sauvignon (RM17.00 for 125ml)Â is a good option to neutralise the smell of pork lingering in the mouth after the pork knuckles. I am assuming the other wines will do the same job as well?
The overall dining experience is great, with nice ambience and chilling environment. The price is not that wallet friendly as a dish may easily cause you RM30++. Nevertheless, the food just mediocre though, perhaps I came here with very high expectation on tasting some great food then.Â
