Nasi Melayu Lidiana @ Medan Selera Tanjung Bunga, Tanjung Bungah, Penang

A portion of steaming white rice and some dishes could not be more satisfying if you have it at Nasi Melayu Lidiana, Medan Selera Tanjung Bungah, just directly opposite of the floating mosque.

Operating for more than 40 years and currently the second generation is manning the legacy, Nasi Melayu Lidiana is well known to the locals. This place is unusually packed during lunch hour, a testimonial on how good would the dishes be, in case one has doubt.

What makes Nasi Melayu Lidiana extraordinary is the extensive of dishes offered. For instances, there are various types of fishes available for your selection, causing you have a dilemma there as all of them seemingly so mouthwatering. Not to mention the choices for chickens, curries and etc!

I used to mumble on the lacking of greenish vegetables at Nasi Kandar stalls but this seems not to be a trouble at Nasi Melayu Lidiana. There were a variety of vegetables being offered, even more than a typical Chinese economy rice stall.

My plate of rice consists of some greenish stuff, a fried boiled egg and a fried chicken (RM6), which I thought was pretty fair. I cannot resist myself to take the fried boiled egg as this dish seems to be so scarce nowadays. The fried chicken was great, not too oily and with crispy skin, it just nail the essentials of a peice of healthy nice chicken. The curry gravies was not really spicy and in fact more to sweet type.

This is the humble husband of the lady boss. He comes out even to serve the customers even though they have plenty of workers to help them. He even told me that 80% of his customers are actually chinese!

If you are coming from Georgetown, drive to Tanjung Bungah and you will see floating mosque on your right. Turn left and you will see this big sign board - Medan Selera Tanjung Bunga. Nasi Melayu Lidiana is tucked inside the food court.
