Chok Dee Thai Restaurant @ Burma Road, Penang

Chok Dee Thai has been around the neighborhood for some times, popular as the place for family reunion. We were yearning for hot soup in the chilling weather on last December, then we decided to clear Chok Dee Thai from our food hunting list. Located 4 shops away from El Faro Tapas Bar, Chock Dee Thai easily been overlooked from the bustling Burma Road. Parking would be a bit limited in front their shop, recommended park along Jalan Loh Boon Siew. For price wise, we thought they are more on the higher side.

Oyster Omelette (RM 15) was one of the noteworthy dish we tried. Unlike the authentic Thai version, there is no bed of bean sprout hidden under the omelette. It is more like the fusion of Thai and Penang's omelette. The eggs were watery and well flavored with something very different.

Tom Yum Seafood (RM 20) was quite a disappointment, the soup was sweet in artificial way and little seafood found in the soup. However, it does sooth our urge for a bowl of warm soup.

Roast Pork Long Beans (RM 18), roast pork was juicy and chewy but the long beans was too hard to our liking.

Dessert after meal with measly Tub Tim Knob (RM 6), water chesnut and jackfruit served cold in coconut milk.

Warm Homemade Lemongrass (RM 4)
