Lam Ah Fried Oyster @ Beach Street, Penang

Penang has lots of hidden gem, as a Penangite, I am shame to say that I just discover this great fried oyster and most probably the best in Penang lately. It is hidden in an old coffee shop namely Lam Ah at the cross junction of Beach street and Chulia Street. One might have skipped this coffee shop while waiting for traffic light at the junction.

26th Oct, 2016 Updates: The ST Loo beef noodle & Oh Chien have moved to 262 & 264, Lebuh Carnarvon. Read on our visit to O O Cow White Coffee House.

Some people might say that great starchy fried oyster is harder to find than crispy one but I think otherwise. Uncle's fried oyster took a different approach on frying his oyster omelette. First, he fried the starchy eggs with his unique sauce until super crispy and transfer them to the plate. Then, only he throw in oyster and have a quick fried with his sauce again.

This is the masterpiece of his golden fried oyster (RM 10). The oysters were fresh and incredibly delicious with his wonderful sauce. Every bite of the crispy egg gave me crunchy noise in my mouth. The chili sauce was great too.

Besides the amazing oyster fried, the beef koay teow th'ng (RM 7) sold by a young pretty lady is worth trying. The broth was thick and well flavored, served with sliced beef, beef ball, tendons and tripe.
