Heng Heng Tom Yam @ Bukit Mertajam, Penang

Thinking of grabbing a bowl of Tom Yam with self pick add on ingredients? Not just Raja Uda, Bukit Mertajam has one too -> Heng Heng Coffee Shop. What differs Heng Heng with Raja Uda one would be their they have Fried Mantis Prawn instead of just Fried Fish. Not just Tom Yam, they sell Pork Kouy Teow Soup, Seafood porridge and some seafood as side dishes too.

Fried Mantis Prawn, fresh fishes, cockles and pork bacon was the highlights. As usual, we go for maggie as our noodle option.

Pork Koay Teow Soup 猪肉粉 (RM 4.00) came with a mixture of pork body parts: pork mince, pork slice, pork belly, kidney & skin. The thick broth superb pungent in taste, end with sweet note.

Their Tom Yam as spicy as how it looks, very appetizing yet sadistic for me. In fact, I enjoy drinking it's scrumptious gravy soup as the soup thick and piquant at the same time. I would say its soup was different in style comparing to Raja Uda, but quite similar to Sunshine Square Tom Yam.

Seafood Porridge came with huge prawn which excite me at first, however after peeling off it's shell found them aint fresh and having flaky texture. Besides prawn, you will have squid and fish with the porridge too. Spicy eater shall thrown in all the chili padi to enjoy more 'hot'.

If these doesn't satisfy your desire, you may add on Chicken Leg, Lala, Stir Fried Cockles, Grilled Crab, Stir Fried Balitong, Fried Squid and less sinful Steamed Lady Fingers and vege.

They might close at odd day, recommend you call them to confirm before going.
